The Department of Chemistry at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach Chemistry courses during the 2025-26 academic year. TCNJ is seeking individuals committed to delivering high-quality instruction, employing high-impact pedagogies, and fostering student engagement in both lecture and laboratory settings.
Responsibilities- Follow the course curriculum, grade student work, administer exams, deliver lectures, and provide additional support to students as needed.
- Teaching assignments may include Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
- Biochemistry offerings include a one-semester course for non-majors as well as a combined biochemistry/organic chemistry/general chemistry course designed for nursing majors.
- A master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field is required, along with evidence of teaching experience at the college level and qualifications aligned with the specific course(s) being taught.
- The department particularly values instructors who apply active learning strategies, student-centered instruction, and inquiry-based laboratory methods.
