  • Compensation: $86,720.75 – $93,659.67
Teaching Responsibilities
  • Conduct the TCNJ Concert Band and/or TCNJ Wind Orchestra.
  • Serve as an artist‑teacher (private lesson faculty) in the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Teach additional courses in the music education curriculum based on department needs, such as conducting, instrumental literature, brass/woodwind/percussion methods courses, and student teaching supervision.
  • Serve as the academic advisor for a cohort of music majors and/or minors.
Qualifications
  • DMA in Conducting (instrumental emphasis) or terminal degree in music with appropriate artistic expertise and experience. Candidates with ABD status effective by August 2026 will also be considered.
  • Extensive experience and accomplishment as an instrumental conductor‑educator at the secondary and collegiate levels (including as a graduate assistant).
  • Proven record of high‑level artistry and performance on one’s primary instrument, with experience in solo and ensemble settings, and private studio teaching experience at various levels.
  • A record of visibility in the profession, with the ability to attract talented students to the College and support the stability of the Department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with private lesson teaching and studio development at the collegiate level.
  • Familiarity and experience with K‑12 teaching and/or instrumental pedagogy.
  • Familiarity and experience with athletic band instruction and development.
