Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

Calculate and prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses to the highest ethical standard in compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations for assigned client base. Complete assigned accounting responsibilities in support of CPA staff.

• Prepare and submit simple to moderate tax returns for business and individual clients
• Audit tax preparation forms for completeness and accuracy prior to CPA review
• Obtain additional information on taxable income and deductions as needed
• Ensure all appropriate adjustments, deductions and credits are applied
• Ensure proper tax preparation procedures are consistently followed
• Complete assigned accounting functions
• Support CPA’s and other staff as needed
• Miscellaneous duties as required

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
• Proficient with Thompson-Reuters tax software preferred (Ultra Tax)

• Three or more years in tax preparation experience preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
