Excelsior Springs Animal Clinic, an AAHA‑Accredited hospital, is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Location:

1740 W US 69 Highway, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.

You are a vibrant, team‑player Registered Veterinary Technician eager to implement new ideas, help pets, and support clients. You bring empathy, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and mentor others.

$24‑$27 per hour.

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm;
Saturday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm; closed Sunday.

• Deliver patient care under a veterinarian’s supervision.
• Maintain clear, accurate medical, client, and case records.
• Review records and client instructions, addressing basic care inquiries and escalating questions as needed.
• Guide and support medical support staff to ensure efficient shift operations.
• Mentor staff to encourage career growth.
• Provide input into 360‑degree employee evaluations.
• Assist with client services: scheduling, payment, check‑in, and phone communication.
• Offer feedback on training programs and participate in training sessions.
• Perform cleaning, clinic upkeep, and equipment maintenance.
• Delegate cleaning duties during slow periods when unavailable.
• Identify and address areas needing improvement within the clinic.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to support patient care and operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technician program.
• Current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
• One year of veterinary industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental care, and nursing.
• Ability to administer SQ, IM, and IV injections.
• Knowledge of common veterinary medications, dosages, side effects, and client communication.
• Understanding of anesthesia, patient recovery monitoring, and change recognition.
• Calm, efficient in stressful or fast‑paced environments, including emergencies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort and confidence handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.

• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb.
• Lift, carry, move up to 50 lb independently; over 50 lb with assistance.
• Walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
• Work in noisy environments with animal and equipment sounds.
• Exposure to animals that may bite or scratch.
• Occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and controlled substances.
• Good hearing and vision to understand instructions and operate equipment.
• Hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity for medical equipment and computers.
