Position Summary
The Science department seeks a passionate and energetic teacher to fill a full-time, regular teaching position beginning in the school year. Candidates should be interested in being part of a collaborative group of teachers and working with highly motivated high school students in a diverse, mostly residential community. Successful applications will demonstrate candidates’ ability and willingness to be active participants in the Academy's academic, extracurricular, and residential programs.
AcademicPosition Requirements
Candidates should be prepared to teach biology as well as show interest in supporting our current biology courses and electives. We especially encourage applicants with broad backgrounds and demonstrable experience in teaching both introductory and advanced levels. Strong candidates should be skilled in adapting teaching methods and instructional material to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- An undergraduate degree in biology or related field is required. An advanced degree in biology or related field, as well as classroom teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching in a lab-based biology course for a minimum of 2 years preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Institutional Extracurricular NeedsPhillips Exeter Academy offers students numerous opportunities to explore their interests and identities through various student-led clubs and athletic programs. All classes are student-centered discussions around a Harkness table.
