The Strategic Sourcing Lead is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for electronic components and assemblies, including circuit card assemblies (CCA), printed wiring boards (PWB), and printed circuit boards (PCB). This role reports to the Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing and owns cost reduction, deflation, and supplier strategy initiatives within their assigned sourcing scope. The position requires strong technical acumen and the ability to drive measurable improvements in cost, supply continuity, and supplier performance in a regulated aerospace and defense environment.
Responsibilities- Own and execute strategic sourcing strategies for electronic components and assemblies
- Lead deflation and cost reduction initiatives with measurable savings targets
- Develop sourcing roadmaps driving cost, continuity, and supplier performance
- Build and manage supplier strategies, including market intelligence and risk assessment
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships supporting components and assemblies
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Operations, and Program Management
- Lead supplier identification, evaluation, qualification, and onboarding
- Drive RFI/RFQ/RFP processes and negotiate commercial terms
- Support should‑cost modeling, make/buy decisions, and design‑for‑cost initiatives
- Track supplier KPIs and lead performance improvement actions
- Execute sourcing process improvements and standardization initiatives
- Bachelor’s Degree; minimum six (6) years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or electronics manufacturing
- Electrical Engineering (Bachelor’s degree) – Preferred
- Other engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or related degrees considered with demonstrated technical sourcing experience
- Applicable experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- Experience driving deflation and cost reduction initiatives for electronic components and/or CCAs, PCBs, or PWBs
- Ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on cost drivers, manufacturability, and design tradeoffs
- Strong understanding of supplier cost structures, negotiation strategies, and long-term agreements
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries
- Proven ability to operate independently and deliver results with limited oversight
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software, or hardware controlled by ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. A U.S. Government export license is required as a condition of employment.
- Pay Range: $127,457–$159,321 annually (may vary by location, job function, education, and experience)
