AboutThe Job
As a student you will be responsible for producing high quality diagnostic images for Radiologist Interpretation. Most shifts and locations require staff to work as part of a team. Our department is always looking to grow and improve the services we provide to our community. Exams performed include and not limited to;
Invasive Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Thyroid FNA, Renal and Liver Biopsy), OR cases, General Abdominal and Small Parts, OB/GYN, MSK, Liver Elastography, Pediatric, Neurology, Breast and Vascular exams.
- Perform sonography procedures based on the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS) and Practice Standards of the SDMS Code of Ethics.
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team.
- Understand and adhere to departmental exam protocols.
- Use independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.
- Enrollment in an accredited (CAAHEP) educational Sonography program recognized by the ARDMS.
- Second year in an accredited (CAAHEP) educational Sonography program recognized by the ARDMS, Preferred.
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
