Overview

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace and Defense Industry at C/A Design Inc.. The role uses a hands-on approach to develop and optimize manufacturing workflows, reduce waste, and improve quality by applying Lean Manufacturing philosophies. This position is high visibility with exposure to multiple layers of the organization and supports the growth strategy of C/A Design. Our mission is to protect the Warfighter, and we recently opened a 120k SF state-of-the-art facility in Exeter, NH.

• Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Analyze existing processes (e.g., Value Stream Mapping) to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance quality using error-proofing and Six Sigma methods.
• Identify and track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure improvement impact and identify future opportunities.
• Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Work with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products against specifications and quality standards.
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to support management decisions.
• Collaborate with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Lead a cross-functional team to streamline and standardize manufacturing processes.
• Create process documentation and work instructions to support continued success during rapid growth.

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering required with 10-12 years of experience in a manufacturing facility in an engineering-related role.
• Lean certification and/or demonstrated lean/Six Sigma project experience.
• Customer-centric focus with an understanding of on-time delivery and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Excellent technical skills with strong MS Office and MRP program knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to complete facility projects on time and within budget.
• Ability to coordinate activities of the Manufacturing Production Systems group with Production, Materials, Quality, and Engineering functions.
• Advanced AutoCAD/Solid Works experience.
• Proficiency in process-improvement-related software and tools.
