The CMM Programmer is responsible for performing inspections and supporting data analysis. The role documents and communicates results in a timely fashion to maintain uninterrupted movement within the manufacturing process. The individual will also work closely with Quality Assurance, CNC Programmers, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Production & Braze/Special Process to ensure that all inspections are thoroughly completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Strives towards a culture of proactive safety.
- Create CMM programs with PC‑DMIS software (from Solid Works models, drawings & applicable documents).
- Create Absolute Arm programs.
- Document measurements required for First Article Inspections / AS9102.
- Conduct mechanical, visual & final inspections.
- Recommend new metrology‑based technologies toward improving our overall capabilities.
- Complete quality‑related and continuous‑improvement project work.
- Participate in investigations of root cause and corrective actions / implement preventative actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Level 1, 2 and/or 3 PC‑DMIS Certification – Preferred
. - Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
- Ability to interpret technical drawing and specifications toward programming.
- Spatial awareness of basic machining practices & CMM setups.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Controls / AS9103.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing – Preferred
. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
