Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location:

Exeter Hospital

• 12-hour rotating shifts, primarily nights with occasional day shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Scheduling done in 6-week blocks
• No self-scheduling
• Every third weekend required
• Call requirements vary based on census and need

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NRP
• Preferred: C-EFM certification
• Must hold NH or compact state nursing license

• Experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics required
• Circulating nurse role required; scrub nurse experience is a plus
• Epic electronic medical record experience required

• 100-bed community hospital
• Level 2 maternity unit with approximately 600 deliveries per year
• 19-bed unit including Labor & Delivery, postpartum/mother-baby, and pediatrics
• Level 1 nursery
• Deliveries at 35 weeks and above performed on unit
• On-unit operating room for cesarean sections
• Patient population includes maternal-child, newborn, and occasionally age-appropriate med-surg patients (females under 65 years)

• Phillips fetal monitoring
• IV pumps
• ICU medical Plum 360
• Epidural pump
• PCA pumps
• Glucometer
• Omnicell medication system
• Unit-specific protocols including IV management, RN bedside ultrasound for fetal presentation, epidural catheter removal post-delivery, and phlebotomy

• Staffing ratios guided by AWHONN standards
• Core nursing staff: 6 nurses on day shift, 5 on night shift
• Two-day orientation provided
• Unit provides navy blue scrubs

• No gel or artificial nails allowed
• Applicants must have been separated from the health system for at least 6 months to be considered
