The firm offers a flexible, down‑to‑earth working culture where individuals are genuinely valued and encouraged to grow professionally. With a strong presence across Devon and modern hybrid working arrangements, the business provides an excellent balance between office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Supporting the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
  • Assisting with VAT returns and management accounts
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and client information
  • Supporting senior team members with client queries and day‑to‑day accounting matters
  • Developing an understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Assisting with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software
  • Supporting the wider team on ad hoc projects and advisory work
  • Contributing to process improvements and delivering excellent client service
The successful candidate will have:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related subject
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career within accountancy practice
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using accounting software would be advantageous but is not essential
  • A desire to study towards a professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA (support provided)

In return, the successful candidate will benefit from structured training, professional qualification support, career progression opportunities, hybrid working, and the chance to join a friendly and supportive team committed to helping individuals reach their full potential.
