We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Administrator (previously known as Medical Secretary) to join our Breast and Plastic Surgery Cluster. We have various roles within the cluster, the best suited can be discussed at interview stage. You will:

  • Providing excellent customer care. Hospital visits can be stressful and daunting, so you will be a great communicator with strong customer service skills to put our patients at ease, treating them with tact and empathy
  • Coordinating and organising the attendance of patients to outpatient, day case and theatre appointments
  • Ensuring all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner

Typical tasks that you will complete are (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Administrative support to the clinical imaging team in the Breast Care Unit
  • Reception cover
  • Proof readingclinical letters(please note there is no audio typing in this role)
  • Monitoring waiting times, ensuring that our patients’ treatment pathways, from referral to treatment are accurate and up to date (you can find out more on what this means here: NHS England » Referral to treatment )
  • Booking appointments from waiting lists
  • Setting up and updating clinics/Theatre bookings
  • Liaising with other health services
  • Assisting and supporting other members of the administrative team across the department or division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries for patients, their carers and visitors.
  • Completing actions from MDT Meetings
  • Liaising with the Trauma team and completing any necessary admin tasks

Working Pattern:22.5 hours per week over 3 days (between Mon-Fri)
