We are looking for a Legal Support Assistant to join Ashfords’ busy Employment team. In this role, you’ll provide vital administrative and legal support to partners and fee earners, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day matters.
You’ll manage diaries, organise client files in line with the Ashfords Way, prepare documents, support billing processes, and assist with client onboarding and compliance requirements. You’ll also help with firmwide activities such as organising events or covering reception when needed.
In employment-specific work, you’ll review AI-generated investigation meeting transcripts for accuracy, support tribunal and insurance-related matters, liaise with insurers and cost assessors regarding deadlines and audits, and prepare files for cost assessment, ensuring all documentation is audit-ready and compliant.
Through your work, you’ll play a key role in helping the Employment team deliver a high‑quality, client‑focused service while supporting the wider Legal Support Assistant community.
Who you areYou are an organised, proactive, and detail‑oriented professional with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional client service. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, are confident managing competing priorities, and take pride in producing accurate, high‑quality work.
You enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team but are equally comfortable using your initiative and working independently. You are adaptable, forward‑thinking, and approach your work with professionalism, discretion, and a positive attitude. You understand the importance of compliance, deadlines, and accuracy, particularly within a legal and regulated environment, and will be motivated to contribute to the success of the Employment team at Ashfords.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in a legal support role and be comfortable working reactively to tight and often changing deadlines in a fast‑paced and regulated environment.
