Ward Clerk

Provide a proactive and professional welcome to the ward reception, acting as the public face for the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Deliver an efficient administrative and clerical service to the Ward Team.
Maintain effective communication to patients, relatives and staff to ensure smooth running of the ward and enhance patient care.
Ensure all information is secure and confidentiality maintained at all times.
Provide excellent customer care, including communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
Ensure the professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times.
Main DutiesKey member of the Ward Team, supporting 16 medical wards. Work as the first point of contact for medical reception and ward patients and visitors. Provide administrative support and collaborate with HCAs, nurses and doctors.
Working Pattern & ContractMonday to Friday, 08:00-16:00. Fixed term contract 12 months. Current NHS employees may take this as a secondment.
Qualifications & ExperienceBackground in customer service and/or administration preferred. Enthusiastic, dedicated and eager to make a difference.
Personal QualitiesStrong communication skills, empathy, professionalism, confidentiality and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Person Specification- Experience in customer service or administrative support.
- Good organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection.
