Position: Booking Clerk / Receptionist - Trauma & Orthopaedics (Internal Only)

Role Summary

This role is fast paced, working within Trauma & Orthopaedics. You will be working as part of a busy outpatient admin team based on reception with flexibility to support in the booking office when required; dealing with patient appointments and answering telephones . The main duties of this role include:

  • Meeting and greeting patients at reception
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with appointment requests/queries
  • Booking patient appointments from waiting lists, ensuring appointments are booked accurately on the system
  • Monitoring Appointments for Booking within the NHS E-Referral Service

We are looking for a personable, well organised, enthusiastic person to provide an efficient, professional administrative and clerical service to the Trauma & Orthopaedics Department. You will form an essential part of an extremely busy team, being the first point of contact for patients, checking them in for appointments. You will also need to provide effective communication to both patients and staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the service, enhancing patient care and experience.

This is a patient facing role that requires flexibility to cover, when required, in the booking office. Being able to adapt to the different environments is essential.

This role is great for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, as part of a team working towards a shared goal.

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, between :am & 5pm
