We are looking for new members to join our Front of House Team. The Duty Manager is a key member of the team, responsible for ensuring the welfare of members of the public whilst on the premises and maintaining the highest possible standards of customer care during performances.

Please note we would be happy to hear from you if you would be interested in doing a full-time role combining the Duty Manager and Bar Supervisor roles (39 hours per week total).

Salary: £13.30 per hour (£26,972.40 per annum FTE)
Contract: Part-time permanent contract
Working Hours: Flexible with an average of 20 hours per week. Evening and weekend work required
Holiday: 32 days (inc. statutory holidays) per annum per rata

Key

Duties & Responsibilities Duty Manager
  • Acting as a point of contact for hirers/users in both our venues.
  • Always delivering and modelling excellent customer service.
  • Liaising with all parties (box office, visiting companies, technical) to ensure the smooth running of events.
  • Managing the volunteers during their shifts and providing a briefing to all Front of House staff at the beginning of each shift.
  • Working with the Bar Supervisors to ensure Front of House Assistants are maximizing sales income in all areas.
  • Acting as a designated First Aider and responding to staff/customer injuries as required.
  • Dealing with any emergency on the premises, including addressing the audience if necessary, overseeing the safe evacuation of customers if required, and reporting emergency actions to the House Manager or other member of the Senior Management Team as soon as possible.
  • Alongside the theatre management team, controlling the finances of Front of House sales as required, including managing cash floats, cashing up and adhering to Exeter Northcott financial policies/procedures.
  • Ensuring operational information is being filtered to relevant departments and management.
  • Working with the Front of House team to ensure an effective ordering process.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant licensing laws.
  • Ensuring the premises are maintained in a clean and tidy state and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Adhering to the theatre’s Health & Safety policy and reporting any relevant issues.
  • Maintaining a good working knowledge of the theatre’s Spektrix ticketing system and undertaking ticket sales duties as required.
  • Maintaining a good working knowledge of the theatre’s Yesplan programme management system. Completing show reports in Yesplan highlighting incidents, complaints and maintenance issues.
  • Acting as a key-holder and ensuring that the venue is locked and alarmed at the end of the shift.
General
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the theatre’s values and business objectives.
