About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial & Procurement team at South West Water. You’ll play a key role in supporting a high-value, complex Strategic Resource Option programme—an innovative infrastructure initiative shaping future water resource solutions.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your commercial and procurement knowledge while contributing to a high-profile programme with real impact.
What you’ll be doing- Collecting, analysing and presenting market insights to support decision‑making
- Producing regular reports and developing dashboards to track performance and programme progress
- Supporting the preparation of presentations for key stakeholders
- Maintaining procurement documentation, contract records and databases
- Monitoring supplier performance and responding to routine queries
- Supporting contract management activities, including changes, audits and compliance checks
- Contributing to cross‑functional projects and carrying out ad‑hoc analysis
- Collaborating with external procurement specialists to support knowledge sharing and effective communication
We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Around two years’ experience in a commercial, procurement or analytical role
- Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills
- Experience working in team environments, ideally across multiple functions
- Good communication skills and the ability to present information clearly
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Essential:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (such as Business, Economics, Finance, Procurement or Engineering), or
- A Level 3–4 apprenticeship in procurement or a commercial discipline
Desirable:
- CIPS Level 3 or Level 4 qualification (or working towards it)
- Work on a major infrastructure programme with long‑term impact
- Develop your commercial and procurement expertise
- Collaborate with experienced professionals and external specialists
