Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Team within North & Mid Devon working full time in Exeter, UK, earning £38 hourly over a 3-month locum contract. This is a thrilling opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join a dynamic team dedicated to securing nurturing foster placements for Devon’s children in care. In this full time role, you will harness your social work expertise and knowledge to perform high-quality assessments and deliver outstanding support to foster carers, all within a vibrant, fast-paced workplace.

What you will do:

  • Conduct regular foster carer supervisions and provide ongoing support.
  • Complete thorough and high-quality annual reviews of carers.
  • Carry out unannounced visits to foster carers to ensure consistent care levels.
  • Attend essential meetings like child in care reviews and risk assessment meetings.
  • Present cases and information to the fostering panel as required.
  • Facilitate and lead foster carer support groups.
  • Collaborate closely with childcare teams and other professionals to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children.

About you:
You are enthusiastic about transforming young lives. With solid experience as a qualified social worker, you can manage complex situations, uphold reflective practices, and motivate those around you. Strong in partnership working, you can think creatively and adaptively. Additional skills in the Eclipse computer system are advantageous, though strong IT proficiency is essential. You must possess a full-clean driving licence and have access to a car, with the ability to travel as required.
