Job Overview

A Site Manager is required for a leading drylining contractor to oversee a £3million drylining package on a major £80million student accommodation development in Exeter. The project is expected to run for approximately 2years and forms part of a strong pipeline of upcoming work across the Southwest.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day site operations on a large‑scale student accommodation project.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors to ensure programme targets are achieved.
  • Monitor quality, health & safety, and compliance across all drylining works.
  • Maintain site documentation including progress reports, RFIs, variations, and site diaries.
  • Liaise closely with the Principal Contractor, consultants, and wider project team.
  • Produce short‑term programmes and monitor progress against project milestones.
  • Support and mentor site teams while maintaining strong working relationships on site.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid certification.
  • Strong drylining experience with excellent technical understanding of systems and specifications.
  • Previous experience managing large‑scale construction projects.
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures and site reporting systems.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and project management software.
Salary & Benefits

Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience.
