Overview

Jacobs is delivering major programmes across the UK and Ireland, predominantly highways and rail projects, using the NEC suite of contracts. We are looking for experienced NEC Project Managers to lead the delivery of these programmes, ensuring clarity, collaboration and momentum throughout all stages of the contract lifecycle.

Responsibilities

As the client’s key representative you will:

  • Guide communication between all parties, keeping decision‑making proactive.
  • Interpret contractual requirements and help multidisciplinary teams stay aligned on programme, scope and budget.
  • Shape scope and contract documentation with design teams, applying NEC3 Works Information or NEC4 Scope.
  • Issue key instructions, manage early warnings, implement compensation events and respond to deadlines, ensuring the contract performs as intended.
  • Make well‑reasoned, timely decisions on programming, float, logic links, concurrency and key dates to keep delivery efficient and transparent.
  • Support colleagues and advise other teams to strengthen internal NEC capability and raise best practice across the business.
Qualifications
  • Accredited NEC Project Manager (NECReg).
  • Degree in engineering, construction or another built‑environment subject.
  • Proven, hands‑on project‑management experience on live construction sites.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on large (minimum £20 million construction value or equivalent) and complex projects in a regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to manage change and uncertainty while maintaining positive relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
