Responsible for the overall delivery of psychiatric services to FSRI’s Home Division, including South County Academy and Residential Interventions. Provides culturally competent psychiatric evaluation, safety assessment, medication evaluation, ongoing medication management and monitoring. Works as a key member of an interdisciplinary team to plan, develop, organize, and direct clinical services. Ensures services meet community standards of care, comply with State and Federal laws, and are compliant with regulatory requirements.
Coordinates and supervises the medical practice of nursing staff at South County Academy and FSRI Residential Intervention Programs. Provides team and utilization management consultation; individual, group and family treatment, and staff training. Provides critical leadership to ensure medical, clinical, and programmatic services are therapeutic and support positive clinical outcomes. Works in collaboration with FSRI’s medical team.
- Deliver psychiatric services, including assessment and ongoing medication management.
- Participate in interdisciplinary planning and direction of clinical services.
- Coordinate and supervise nursing staff medical practice.
- Provide team and utilization management consultation.
- Conduct individual, group and family treatment sessions.
- Train staff on clinical best practices.
- Lead South County Academy to achieve therapeutic outcomes.
- Current valid license to practice in Rhode Island.
- Current DEA Certificate & Number.
- Board-certified or meet training requirements for Board eligibility in Child Psychiatry.
- Experience working with children and adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience providing psychiatric treatment to youth and adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Skilled in operating various medical record software, word‑processing, and database programs.
- Spanish speaking preferred; compensated.
- Flexible schedule with some evenings.
- Excellent multitasking and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual/ASL skills compensated with additional 6% of base pay.
- Multilingual skills compensated with additional 8% of base pay.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration and auto insurance.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Travel to clients’ residences and community locations.
- Use walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
- Lift up to 20 lbs.
- Work remotely and in person, adhering to PHI requirements.
