Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (Temporary)

If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team at our all-through special needs school in Exeter as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

About Us:

This SEN schools provides personalised, bespoke education package to pupils with Education Health Care Plans who have complex needs that are not being met in other schools. They use a Trauma Informed approach together with our Special Educational Needs expertise to design a school experience that will enable them to be successful learners. They are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging space where every student can reach their full potential and develop essential life skills.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students in various learning activities.
– Helping with core subjects as well as community projects, travelling with child on school trips and to appointments.
- Supporting students' communication development through various strategies and tools.
- Building relationships, gaining the trust of the pupils, managing behaviour and communication within classroom.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications and

Experience:

- Experience working with students with SEMH is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs.
- Ability to adapt and tailor support strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
