Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on a one-to-one basis? Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and committed 1:1 Learning Mentors to provide personalised support to pupils in schools across Exeter and the surrounding areas.

Role: 1:1 Learning Mentor
Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day + Travel Expenses

Full-time, Term Time Only

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

As a 1:1 Learning Mentor, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 mentoring and support to pupils with additional needs

• Adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles

• Support the implementation of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans

• Promote independence, confidence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing

• Support communication, behaviour regulation, and personal development

• Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff to ensure consistent support

We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)

• Transferable experience (e.g., care, youth work, mentoring, family SEND experience)

• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own car

• A genuine desire to support pupils and develop within education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
