Do you have industry experience in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installations? Whilst the perfect candidate will have a teaching or assessor qualification, it's your industry skills, experience and desire to help young people get into construction roles that we really want. You’ll need to be:
- Great at explaining things simply and clearly
- Hardworking and organised
- Passionate about providing students with a brilliant learning experience
- Able to teach and assess (ideally with a teaching and/or assessing qualification but for the right candidate we’d be willing to train you)
- Experienced in at least one of the building trades
You’ll:
- Teach in our Electrical Department in our Faculty of Construction
- Conduct on‑site assessments of apprentices
- Teach our 6th Form and Apprentice Electricians
- Support students to succeed
- Support your colleagues and wider team
The £2k annual allowance is a Market Forces Supplement – an extra discretionary payment to attract talented staff from industry. It is reviewed every year.
