Senior Cover Supervisor

Overview

Starting as soon as possible, we are seeking a dedicated, highly organised and efficient Senior Cover Supervisor to join our school. In addition to undertaking the role of a Cover Supervisor, the Senior Cover Supervisor will manage our team of Cover Supervisors, including training, day-to-day activities and raising any performance issues. You will monitor the quality of the cover work set and raise any concerns with the Deputy Principal (Curriculum).

You will also support and brief supply teachers, ensuring they are provided with cover work and help to resolve any issues they may encounter. When not required for cover, you will support with Emergency Call Out and after school detentions. This role may suit a teacher who is looking to step back from teaching but still play a fundamental role in supporting students.

Potential candidates must have experience of working in a school, preferably secondary, and have experience of cover supervision or equivalent classroom experience.

• Lead and manage the team of Cover Supervisors, including training and monitoring performance.
• Coordinate day-to-day cover arrangements and ensure high-quality cover work.
• Raise performance concerns and liaise with the Deputy Principal (Curriculum) as required.
• Support and brief supply teachers, providing necessary cover work and resolving any issues.
• Provide support for Emergency Call Out and after school detentions when required.

• Experience of working in a school, preferably secondary.
• Experience of cover supervision or equivalent classroom experience.
• Ability to lead, train and manage a team, and to monitor the quality of work produced.
