Teaching Assistant​/MTA

We have a vacancy within oursupport team for a SEN Teaching Assistant & MTA, the position is to support children with specialist additional needs.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate at Newtown Primary School who:

• Will be enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated working alongside the class teacher to support children 1:1 acrossall areas of the curriculum
• The post holder will be responsible for ensuringa child has full access to the national curriculum and has to operate in anumber of ways to ensure the child progresses.
• Will be required to work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
• Responsible for working with an individual pupiland with small groups
• Will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given solutions with integrity and compassion
• Have experience of working with children.
  
  Ideally, within a school environment
• Can inspire and motivate children and enablethem to be the best that they can be
• Has the ability to encourage every child tolearn and achieve and has enthusiasm, skill and desire to make a difference
• Has a passion to ensure high expectations forall ensuring that they make outstanding progress
• Can plan, prepare and promote constructive playduring the lunchtime period

As a Mealtime Assistant you:

• Will be responsible for a safe andcalm dining experience
• Will be able build a rapport with children
• Will be able to support children during their lunchtime provision both in the dining room and on the playground.
• Will be able to liaise both written and verbally with other schoolstaff
• Willbe physically able to lift and move tables and chairs as part of the set up andclear down for lunchtime.
