What will you be responsible for?- Lead legal compliance and support delivery of improved environmental and sustainability outcomes on the Environment Agency collaborative delivery framework (CDF) delivering flood and coastal risk management projects in the South West.
- Ensure effective implementation and reporting of our environmental monitoring regime and audit programme (site-based role travelling and visiting sites).
- Collect and report environmental sustainability data and ensure input into the Kier reporting tools.
- Manage and oversee environmental consultants / specialists where required.
- Liaise with client, regulatory bodies and subcontractors on matters of environmental management and sustainability to drive best practice.
- Review method statements and associated documents to ensure environmental compliance.
- Ensuring effective implementation and reporting of the monitoring regime.
- Collecting and reporting environmental sustainability data.
- Managing and overseeing environmental consultants and specialists.
- Liaising with client, regulatory bodies and subcontractors.
- Reviewing method statements for compliance.
- Experience working as an environmental advisor within the infrastructure or construction sectors.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g.,
IEMA
, CIWEM
, CIWN
, etc.). - Understanding of environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities.
- Experience managing a variety of environmental risks and understanding their impacts in terms of time, cost and reputation.
- Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the project.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate environmental risks and controls to many different job roles and levels of environmental awareness.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001.
- Driving licence – the role will require travel across the South West.
