Electrical Technician

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company to recruit for an Electrical Technician to join their Energy from Waste Power Station in Exeter, Devon.

Salary: £49,129 + up to 12% Bonus + Overtime + Private Medical + Pension + Benefits.

• Fault finding and maintaining electrical assets including motors, transformers, switch gear, drives and HV/LV plant, working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices.
• Assisting in plant developments and projects.
• Supervising and setting to work on site contractors.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assisting in outage planning, scheduling and coordination.
• Ensuring the availability of plant spares.

• NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• 17th / 18th Edition wiring regulation qualification desired.
• Health and safety qualification such as an IOSH highly advantageous.

• Hands‑on maintenance experience with PLC systems, motors, variable speed drives, switch gear, etc.
• Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill, etc.
• Prior experience working with high voltage equipment highly advantageous.
• Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers also considered for this opportunity.
