Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer

We have an opportunity in Exeter for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £57,842 per year, plus participation in an annual bonus scheme and a range of benefits.

The role reports to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities include all aspects of mechanical engineering and maintenance on site in cooperation with Mechanical Engineers. The goal is to ensure optimal long‑term availability of the plant, preserve asset value, and meet health, safety, environmental, and financial targets. Responsibilities also cover electrical, controls, and instrumentation engineering, efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities at the ERF plant, including stores and workshop management.

The engineer provides guidance to help others develop their skills.

• Knowledge of repair methods of EC&I machinery and equipment.
• Experience in working with Permits to Work and Safe System of Work.
• Experience supervising teams and contractors to deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Experience working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
• Excellent communication skills required at all levels, both verbal and written.
• Appropriate Engineering qualifications such as HNC (or equivalent).
