Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Civil Engineer to join a thriving multi‑disciplinary consultancy based in Exeter city centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a Drainage Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Civil Design Engineer looking to develop their career within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Duties
  • Design and deliver drainage strategies for residential and commercial developments.
  • Produce Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) designs.
  • Prepare Section 104, Section 106 and Section 278 agreements.
  • Design highways and civil infrastructure solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and internal project teams.
  • Manage projects from concept through to construction.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to programme and budget.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Civil Engineer with drainage design experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Site 3D, Civils 3D, Info Drainage or similar software.
  • Good understanding of Section 104, Section 106 and Section 278 agreements.
  • Ability to manage your own projects and prioritise workload.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Experience working on residential and commercial developments.
  • Business development or client relationship management experience.
  • Working towards or interested in Chartership.
