Gauging Engineer

The Opportunity:

What a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Engineer with experience of Gauging and Measurements or Calibration. The Gauge Engineer will provide technical expertise for manufacturing processes on this expansive, engineering site, focusing on measurement equipment for production gauging. The Manufacturing Engineer / Gauging Engineer will be to develop automated manufacturing processes whilst offering the team measurement expertise.

The Role:
  • Create, verify and release measurement programs for automated measurement equipment including 3D structured light systems (Zeiss Scanbox) & CMM
  • Design and deliver tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes
  • Development and implementation of new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation
  • Support justification of capital funding requests
  • Cost reduction and process improvement of current manufacturing techniques.
  • Creating and maintaining all documentation including SOPs, EMSs, JSAs for Production gauging and other Automated operations
  • Support NADCAP compliance for NADCAP controlled manufacturing equipment
  • Mentor other team members in CAD, GD&T & Automation
  • Support identification and implementation of new manufacturing technology
  • Responsible for program storage, data back-ups and revision control for Manufacturing equipment
  • Implement and support EH&S activities
Preferred

Skills:
  • Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an engineering environment
  • Knowledge of 3

    DSL measurement equipment
  • CMM Programming experience (Renishaw Modus)
  • Experience in Aerofoil Inspection
  • Experience trouble-shooting mechanical systems (pneumatics, tooling, measurement feedback systems)
  • Knowledge of automation systems
  • Good understanding of Engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Good understanding of tooling and fixture design
Working Hours:

8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday

Associated Benefits:

Competitive salary in the region of £45000 depending on your experience and qualifications.
