You will work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities. Working primarily in the UK water market, MMB provides the feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning services needed to keep water flowing and wastewater treated. You’ll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the structural functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all civil aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.
As a Structural Engineer your responsibilities will include:Preparing and reviewing designs for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
Preparing detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement
Producing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules for procurement activities, reviewing supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
Understanding, applying and contributing to design standards with a good knowledge of Client and industry standards.
Be able to appropriately challenge Client specifications and present and defend solutions to complex problems.
Identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
Acting as technical checker on project documents and undertaking technical reviews for projects across teams.
Managing the interfaces and integration of the design with that of other disciplines and production of documentation.
Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, client and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
Working closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond.
Supervising and mentoring our Graduates and Engineers assisting them to develop their knowledge and skills.
