. This is a key senior management role offering autonomy, variety, and the chance to shape the financial future of a successful and expanding business.

• Managing day‑to‑day finance operations (bookkeeping, payroll, banking, credit control)
• Acting as the lead Xero user
• Overseeing invoicing, supplier payments, expenses & reconciliations
• Monitoring debtors, conducting credit checks & managing financial risk
• Preparing VAT returns, payroll, pensions & tax submissions
• Producing monthly management accounts & divisional reporting
• Leading budgeting, forecasting, cashflow & KPI development
• Supporting year‑end and audit preparation
• Maintaining strong financial controls & compliance
• Overseeing insurance renewals and claims
• Supporting HR admin (contracts, onboarding, reviews, employee queries)
• Driving process improvements, automation and system enhancements
• Developing and supporting the finance function as the business grows

• 5+ years’ experience in a finance management role (SME experience ideal)
• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, etc) or qualified by experience
• Strong Xero and advanced Excel skills
• Broad experience across bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations & reporting
• Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
• High attention to detail and discretion
• Based within commutable distance of Exeter
