A well‑established and highly successful UK business based in Exeter is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its head office team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified and ambitious finance professional to step into a senior leadership position within a growing private organisation.
The RoleYou’ll play a key role in driving financial performance, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting strategic decision‑making at board level. Leading a talented finance team, you’ll oversee all aspects of financial reporting, forecasting, statutory accounts, and cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, working closely with senior stakeholders.
- Deliver accurate, timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Prepare annual statutory accounts and manage the external audit process.
- Oversee corporation tax submissions in collaboration with advisors.
- Manage daily cash flow and maintain strong relationships with funders.
- Provide direction and support to the finance team, ensuring high standards across all reporting areas.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- At least five years’ experience in finance, with previous tenure as a Financial Controller or equivalent.
- Proven record of managing and developing a finance team.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic commercial environment.
