Assistant Management Accountant

£20–£24 per hour DOE | Onsite with Flexibility | Exeter

This Assistant Management Accountant opportunity is a temporary assignment supporting the finance team through a busy and evolving period. You will contribute to the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations while assisting with month end processes and system transition activity. This role would suit a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing transactional accuracy with management accounting support.

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including ledger postings and reconciliations
• Assist with payment runs, purchase ledger processing, VAT returns, and maintaining accurate financial records
• Manage customer invoicing, bank reconciliations, and resolve finance inbox queries professionally
• Provide support during finance system implementation, including user testing and data checks

• Hands‑on finance operations experience within a busy finance function
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and reliable financial data
• Confident Excel and finance systems user, comfortable learning new tools quickly
• AAT qualified, part‑qualified ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent practical experience

• Competitive hourly rate of £20–£24 per hour, dependent on experience
