Senior Management Accountant – Exeter
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000.
Location:
Exeter.
Hours:
Full time, Monday to Friday. Start: ASAP.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established and rapidly growing South West business. This is a senior finance position supporting the production of management accounts across multiple entities, offering genuine long-term progression opportunities within a successful and forward-thinking organisation.
This role offers significant career development and progression, with a clear pathway into a Financial Controller position for the right individual as the business continues to grow.
This opportunity would suit a commercially minded finance professional with strong management accounting experience, ideally within a multi‑site or fast‑paced commercial environment, who is looking to take the next step in their career.
What You’ll Be Doing- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities
- Carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Assisting with financial reporting requirements and audit preparation
- Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
- Providing support and cover for the Finance Manager where required
- Maintaining accurate accounting and management information systems
- Building strong working relationships across the wider business
- Supporting professional development and best practice within the finance team
- Liaising with external stakeholders including suppliers, professional bodies and auditors
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA ideally) or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand wider business operations
- Previous experience within a fast‑paced commercial environment
- Advanced Excel and strong systems experience
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Proactive, organised and detail‑oriented approach
