Project Accountant

A commercially minded qualified accountant with strong technical skills and financial modelling experience is needed to join a dynamic growing business based in Exeter as a Project Accountant. The role is a new position created due to continued growth and offers a unique opportunity for a proactive finance professional to contribute to a fast‑paced company.

Responsibilities
  • Project management for several multi‑stakeholder commercial projects.
  • Preparing commercial financial models and budgets.
  • Generating and manipulating financial models.
  • Assisting with tender document preparation and tender evaluation.
  • Business case drafting.
  • Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial structuring and soft market testing with financial markets.
  • Ad hoc project work.
Rewards & Benefits

Competitive salary of £40,000 – £50,000 pa plus a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing support and CPD.

Hours and Location

Full‑time:
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
Part‑time:
Minimum 3 days per week or 24 hours per week.
Hybrid office/home – candidate must be within commuting distance of Exeter.

Qualifications

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountants with excellent technical knowledge and a background in financial analysis, corporate finance or financial modelling are preferred. Understanding of commercial model creation and business case drafting is desirable.

  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate financial and management reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to inspire, persuade and influence.
  • Problem‑solving with analytical skills and the ability to explain complex information to non‑finance staff.
  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas, look‑ups and pivot tables.
  • Experience with PowerPoint or similar presentation software.
