IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a growing and highly regarded professional services firm for a Tax Manager to join their team in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager, Assistant Tax Manager, or ambitious Tax Senior looking to step into a management role. You'll work with a diverse portfolio of private clients, business owners, and trusts, delivering a varied mix of compliance and advisory services while developing your technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative tax team.
Working on complex and rewarding client matters, you'll become a trusted adviser and play a key role in the continued growth and success of the department.
Key Duties- Manage a portfolio of clients and act as the main point of contact for tax-related matters.
- Deliver a mix of personal tax compliance and advisory services.
- Support complex tax planning projects and provide tailored advice to clients.
- Review tax returns and oversee the delivery of high-quality technical work.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development.
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the tax function.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.
- Previous experience in a tax-focused role at Tax Senior, Assistant Manager, or Manager level.
- ATT and/or CTA qualified.
- Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance and advisory services.
- Experience reviewing tax returns and managing more complex client matters.
- Desire to develop expertise in overseas and non‑residential tax services.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships.
- Exposure to trusts, estates, and probate work.
- Experience supporting tax advisory projects.
- Previous mentoring or supervisory experience.
- Experience with overseas and non‑residential tax services.
- Salary of £40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
