Credit Risk Analyst

Credit Risk Analyst Chesterfield Hybrid working available Elevation Accountancy & Finance are looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to join an established finance team, taking ownership of credit risk across a diverse customer portfolio and playing a key role in protecting the business while supporting sustainable growth. This is a genuine credit risk role, focused on assessing the financial strength and risk profile of new and existing customers rather than traditional credit control or collections.

You’ll analyse financial information, carry out ongoing risk reviews, make recommendations and work closely with stakeholders to ensure the business is making informed and commercially sound credit decisions. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing new customer account reviews, including credit risk assessments Setting up customer accounts in line with local rules, legislation and internal requirements Conducting ongoing credit risk reviews and identifying potential areas of concern Supporting the setup of accounts Maintaining appropriate controls to minimise fraud and protect the business Ensuring compliance with credit policies and providing clear, actionable recommendations Continuously monitoring existing credit relationships Producing and maintaining accurate credit risk reporting Reporting on payment performance to internal and external stakeholders Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the wider business Reviewing new data sources and assessing how these could enhance existing credit risk strategies Working closely with management to develop and improve credit risk policies and procedures About you We’re looking for someone with a strong background in credit risk, credit analysis, commercial credit or a similar financial risk environment.

You’ll ideally have:
Strong financial analysis and risk assessment skills The ability to interpret financial information and use it to make informed recommendations A good understanding of credit policies, controls and fraud prevention Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different areas of the business Strong Excel and reporting skills The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the analytical and commercial side of credit and wants to build their career within credit risk.
