Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been engaged by a well-established and highly respected charitable organisation who seek to recruit a Senior Finance Officer. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity working 24 hours per week.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a broad and interesting role that combines responsibility for key day-to-day finance operations with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of finance systems, processes and controls. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient running of the finance function whilst helping to identify smarter and more effective ways of working.
Keyresponsibilities will include:
- Managing supplier payments and overseeing purchase ledger activities
- Preparing journals, reconciliations and supporting month-end accounting processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring robust financial controls
- Supporting payroll administration and other finance operations as required
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to resolve finance queries and improve workflows
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and make better use of technology
We're seeking an experienced finance professional with a strong grounding in finance operations, bookkeeping or accounting. The successful candidate will possess a sound understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes, alongside excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys improving the way things are done. You'll be proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable challenging existing processes where improvements can be made. Experience of contributing to systems improvements, process development or finance transformation projects would be highly advantageous, although not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-led organisation in a varied role offering genuine responsibility, autonomy and the chance to make a lasting impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
