Clinical Nurse Specialist Skin and Sarcoma

The post holder will be required to work autonomously as well as part of the immediate MDT and larger teams, participating in the holistic assessment of Skin and Sarcoma patients. You will give advice, instigate investigations and implement patient care as appropriate to manage the patient, supporting the patients and their loved ones throughout the pathway.

You will provide essential communication to improve patient experience and quality of care, reducing lengths of stay and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.

You will support the band 8a and lead consultant in the planning and development of the future service in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures, utilising the most effective resources.

Alongside the skin and sarcoma teams you will provide specialist advice and education to health professionals regarding patients symptoms or side effects, related to the treatment or cancer to improve quality of life.

More detail about the role

The skin and sarcoma team are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic, patient focused nurse with recent skin / sarcoma or oncology/haematology experience, to help us maintain the delivery of high-quality care to patients referred to our team.

As a Skin and Sarcoma CNS, you will holistically assess the patients current needs providing supportive care to improve their cancer experience and quality of life.

You will be an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team working across the whole patient pathway. This will incorporate supporting the patient as required throughout their pathway. You will be expected to work within the team as well as autonomously, prioritising and managing your caseload and time appropriately.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hrs Fixed Term Contract 12 months
