Job DescriptionAre you passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives? Our client, a leading specialist provider in Exeter, is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a modern, semi‑independent residential home supporting young adults aged 16‑18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, and your support will help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe, caring setting.
Key Responsibilities- Encourage young adults to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment to promote positive development
- Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically
- Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support independence and well‑being through personalized care plans
- Ensure a safe and secure environment at all times
- Build strong relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives
- Support young people according to their care plans, reward systems, and communication preferences
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or working with young people is desirable but not essential
- Experience with in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous
- Full UK driving licence is essential, as transportation of young people may be required
- Must be over 21 years old and able to commute to Exeter
