We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Devon Partnership Trusts Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) covering Exeter and wider Devon. The service has grown steadily since its successful pilot in 2016 and full commissioning in 2018.
As part of the CEDS, you will provide a full range of therapeutic interventions alongside a clearly commissioned physical health monitoring service for adults with moderate to severe eating disorders registered with GPs across Devon.
Main duties of the jobThe job plan is a well‑resourced eight PAs, six DCCs and two SPA with supportive supervision and CPD arrangements. On‑call rota one in sixteen with a three percent supplement.

- Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
- Hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post.
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.
- Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Other professional qualification.
- Prior experience working in a Community/Inpatient/Eating Disorder /Psychotherapy Mental Health Team.
- Experience of psychiatric practice in a range of settings, especially the community.
- Experience of audit and an understanding of the principles.
- Evidence of development of special interest in Community and/or Eating Disorder and/or Psychotherapy based Psychiatry.
- Proven commitment to improving the quality of clinical care.
- Ability to interpret published research and to apply research findings to clinical practice.
- Aptitude for and practical experience of research.
- Experience of teaching undergraduates and postgraduates.
- Evidence of additional teaching skills.
- Experience as a lecturer or supervisor.
- Experience in Clinical Supervision.
