An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy team working in Enhanced Supportive Care, Renal & Cancer services at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust on a fixed term 22.5 hours/week contract.

The post-holder is responsible for providing leadership & clinical expertise to the Renal & Cancer Services team, covering across the renal and cancer wards, as well as providing comprehensive assessment and specialist interventions within the specialist area of Enhanced Supportive Care (ESC).
The post holder will carry a clinical caseload of complex patients and work closely with the MDT to provide holistic interventions and complex discharge planning to patients within Cancer Services and across Medicine. Closely associated with this is the need for communication of complex conditions and related information to patients and relatives. There will be close liaison with the multi-disciplinary teams in both the acute service and the community.
An understanding of community services, 3rd sector and other voluntary organisations will be required.
The post-holder is responsible for his/her own workload within the ESC designated clinical area on a day-to-day basis which will involve running outpatient clinics, supporting pts in other OP areas such as Oncology/Haematology clinics, Radiotherapy & Day Case and providing ESC intervention for appropriate inpatients. Caseloads will be flexible and at times will involve the provision of service to other areas of the Trust.
This will occur particularly when working at weekends.
The post-holder must be able to drive, have access to a road-worthy vehicle and be able to work across trust sites. The post holder will be willing to work flexibly across seven days as required and where the service requires, provide Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions to ward based patients.
Working Pattern:
22.5 hours per week. Monday-Wednesday

This is a fixed term contract until 31/09/2027. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
