Role Summary

We are offering an extremely interesting and unique opportunity to work as a Booking Clerk in the Preparation for Surgery Department. We are looking for a flexible and motivated person with excellent organisational skills and a professional standard of work. The role is primarily office‑based; however, you will be required to provide cover for a busy reception area when needed.

You must have the ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure, and be a reliable and proven team member. You will be working with a wide range of people and communicating with both patients and staff; empathy and patience are essential.

  • Provide Administrative support to Medical Secretaries, clinicians and the wider team.
  • Schedule patients promptly from waiting lists into clinics.
  • Provide reception cover.
  • Ensure patient/staff safety and confidentiality of information at all times.
  • Communicate with patients and clinical staff—including handling patient calls and inquiries, as well as addressing nurse queries.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Monday – Friday, hours to be discussed.
