Infection Prevention and Control Paramedic/Nurse

An exciting opportunity has become available within the infection prevention and control team. We are currently looking for a Band 6 Paramedic/Nurse with experience or interest in infection prevention within the Emergency Ambulance Service.
Main duties of the job- Undertaking audit, surveillance, education and supporting campaigns.
- Guiding and supporting clinical staff on Infection Prevention and Control guidelines and policies, thereby promoting safe, quality, patient‑centred care.
- Being committed to quality improvement, engaging with staff and translating guidance and strategy into changes of care.
The role is based in Exeter, one of the largest ambulance regions in England, with 24/7 operations and an average of 2,650 incidents per day.

Person Specification Education and qualifications- Registered clinician (Paramedic or Nurse)
- Educated to degree level
- Basic Infection Control Course completed
- Teaching course or equivalent, or demonstrable mentorship/teaching experience
- Recognised postgraduate qualification in IPC, or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership experience
- Broad clinical experience in an acute or community healthcare setting
- Experience in infection prevention and control audit, surveillance and evidence‑based care
- Experience in implementing local infection prevention and control policies
- Experience relating to IPC
- Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes

Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 per annum, pro rata.
