Specialist Occupational Therapist - CFHD

We are looking for an innovative and experienced B7 Occupational Therapist within the Physical and Sensory Pathway  post is available for 6 months for some bespoke clinical project development work. We are a forward-thinking and supportive team, dedicated to clinical leadership, service excellence, and professional growth.

You will ideally have substantial clinical skills in children’s statutory and health assessment and intervention. The post holder will be responsible for leading OT clinical project groups, workshops, facilitating training as appropriate, and will work closely with statutory and third-sector organisations to achieve positive outcomes for service users. The project work being considered includes statutory specialist equipment, local major adaptation processes, and children’s health provision.

The post holder will also hold a small caseload. The post holder must have effective workload management, strong clinical and leadership skills, and a compassionate, child-centred approach to supporting service users and staff alike.

We will offer regular managerial and professional/clinical supervision, opportunities to participate in CPD events, and ensure your continued growth and success within the role, working alongside the county-wide leadership team and the Eastern Locality.

Main duties of the job
  • To participate in and lead clinical project developments with the wider leadership team.
  • Provide support and clinical supervision to OT staff across CFHD.
  • Work within the Physical and Sensory Pathway providing support to Occupational Therapists working across a range of pathways.
  • Screen and triage referrals and ensure a strengths-based approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions to support the complex packages of care for children with additional needs in the community.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and care planning in collaboration with children, young people and their carers.
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, advice and interventions to children, young people and their families and to hold a caseload of children with complex needs.
  • Provide case management of an identified caseload of children and young people with highly complex long-term conditions and complex needs by utilising and promoting evidence-based care.
