Job Title: Hearing Aid Dispenser

Reporting to: Regional Manager

Package: Up to £40,000 + Monthly Commission + Company Car

Location: Exeter and surrounding areas

Days: Weekdays only, no weekends

Job Summary: As a domiciliary audiologist, you can help our most vulnerable patients with their hearing in the comfort of their homes. You will play a crucial role in providing audiological testing services to patients in the comfort of their homes, making autonomous decisions and being valued for your professional expertise. You’ll receive full support from our central teams, including logistical and clinical support.

Clinical

Responsibilities
  • Manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss.
  • Perform Pure Tone Audiometry including masking as required.
  • Conduct tests for non‑organic hearing loss.
  • Test for Noise‑Induced Hearing Loss.
  • Take aural impressions and select appropriate ear moulds.
  • Select, program and fit appropriate hearing instruments.
  • Provide a full, structured, patient‑centric after‑care programme to ensure maximum satisfaction.
  • Provide appropriate support for individuals with hearing loss.
  • Use outcome measures, both subjective and objective, to ensure hearing instruments provide maximum benefit, and apply evidence‑based practice.
  • Use Real Ear Measurement equipment to validate and verify hearing instrument fittings.
  • Commit to lifelong learning to keep up to date with the latest developments in audiology.
  • Maintain test equipment daily and arrange calibration as required.
  • Provide ear care and wax removal where required (training will be provided).
  • Follow best practice principles regarding infection control in the workplace.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Register with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser or obtain the appropriate training.
  • Reflect on own practice with peers and management to identify strengths and development needs.
  • Take responsibility for own professional actions and recognise boundaries, seeking advice when necessary.
  • Collaborate as part of a clinical team and discuss client needs with colleagues.
  • Attend supervision and training to maintain skills and expand scope of practice, complying with HCPC CPD requirements.
  • Maintain CPD records in a form acceptable to the HCPC.
  • Understand and apply principles of clinical governance to professional practice in audiology.
  • Ensure staff are aware of and comply with all infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff are aware of and comply with health and safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Effective and flexible communication with multiple parties.
  • Proficiency with digital systems and keen attention to detail.
  • Confident driver with at least two years driving experience and the ability to navigate to multiple locations.
  • Maintain composure under pressure.
  • Pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
  • Organised and able to multitask.
  • Work within own clinical knowledge and limitations.
