Position: Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner (Trauma & Orthopaedics) (Internal Only)

Role Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our dedicated Physiotherapy team at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Hospital, covering a 30‑hour fixed‑term, maternity leave cover role running through to 16.08.27.

About the Role

You will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their inpatient orthopaedic and trauma rehabilitation journey. You will manage a delegated caseload, undertake assessments and deliver rehabilitation programmes to patients within the ward environment, whilst working under the guidance of registered Physiotherapists. You will also contribute to discharge planning and support safe transitions from hospital to home or onward care services.

About You

You will be a motivated and compassionate individual with excellent communication and organisational skills. You should be able to work independently within your scope of practice while also contributing effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. A commitment to delivering high standards of care and supporting positive patient outcomes is essential.

Working Pattern

The post includes participation in the weekend and bank holiday rota, currently involving approximately one weekend day every four weeks, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality therapy services seven days a week.
