In this entry role to our Physiology department, you'll make a difference, not just a living. We're transforming healthcare in the UK by bringing together assessment, treatment and prevention services to provide integrated care.
As an Academy Physiologist, you'll bring a minimum 2:2 Sport and Exercise Science degree or equivalent. You've studied human physiology, exercise, biochemistry, anatomy/biomechanics, psychology and nutrition. Crucially, you know how to apply this in practice.
Whilst you will have a base location all our Academy Physiology roles are mobile, so you will be required to travel within the region of your base site.
As an Academy Physiologist, you will:- Join our multidisciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals
- Complete our in-house three-week training course.
- Help promote health and fitness as part of our holistic, comprehensive health service
- Deliver health assessments that support health and wellbeing goals
- Support prevention as well as rehabilitation and recovery
- Be passionate and caring in the service you provide, putting client’s needs first
- Complete our award-winning preceptorship programme during your first 12 months in the role

Nuffield Health Exeter HospitalThe Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. Exeter is a vibrant cathedral city in the heart of the beautiful county of Devon, situated on the river exe and only 10 miles from the coast. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds.
We also have an on-site Pathology department as well as a busy outpatient department, health assessment service, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner.
Successful candidates will be expected to attend a training camp in London in their second and third weeks of an initial four week training programme on commencement of the role.
